Turning 30, Soon

Thursday's the BIG 30 for me. I cried when I turned 20: I thought I was getting old and wasn't quite ready to leave my teens behind. That birthday some of my friends took me to Kilgore and we had ourselves a picnic. It was a goodie and a birthday I won't soon forget:) Birthdays just aren't the same now. Not for sure if it's because I'm a parent or that the two kids I have get to blow out my birthday candles. When we were kids we always got to choose where we wanted to eat on our birthday. One year I chose a sandwich shop and my sister was so mad because she didn't want to eat there. My dad told her that it was my birthday and I got to pick our dinner spot. I loved it and felt so empowered! I still get to choose my birthday dinner location, I just have to take into consideration if my kids will eat anything on the menu:) Mike has a cute little box all wrapped up and I'm thinking it's something lovely. Ella told me she got me ice cream:) Totally diggin that it's my birthday this week, just remembering the good old days!
